College Choice: IUPUI
Major: Journalism/ Broadcast Journalism What I’ll miss about High School: Sporting events, school events, being around the people I’ve grown up with. Also the little things, like having class and lunch with my friends. Newspaper memories: I came into Newspaper trying to find out my passion, purpose, and interests in life. This class has been a major contributor to my life and my future. It is a satisfying and relieving feeling to know that you discovered something that you would not only be fine with, but would enjoy doing for the rest of your time on earth. I want to thank everyone who I have ever interviewed for allowing me to make mistakes and for giving me the opportunity to do something that I love. A big thank you also goes out to my classmates over these last two years. People like Jazmine Hightower and Josh Cook helped me when I was completely new to how to do things. Other classmates like Briana Thomas and Michelle Gunnell helped me throughout my creative process and helped me out along the way with ideas along with being professional. By far my favorite moment from these last two years was working on the Double Truck by myself which hadn’t been done previously. I worked tremendously hard researching and putting something together that my peers and others would be able to appreciate. It made it even sweeter when all of my classmates congratulated me and told me that I had done an amazing job. The biggest thank you though, goes to Mrs Skertic. She took me in and did a fantastic job furthering my knowledge about journalism and how to carry myself as a journalist. I am forever grateful for all of the stories, tough days, fun days, and everything in between. Thank you for helping this kid find his passion. Last words: I loved my time in high school and the newspaper. For the younger generation, be sure to live in the moment and take nothing for granted. As we can see now, everything isn’t guaranteed.
