Friday, May 15th=Happy Friday everyone! And with that, we have finished yet another school week in quarantine. Classes are starting to dwindle down little by little, but the rain definitely has not let up. I cannot believe how loud the storm was last night. I decided to start learning French and to be quite honest, it is not going that bad. I'm starting with the conversational words so that I can learn to communicate as quickly as possible. I feel this is the best way to learn. We will see how this goes. Wednesday, May 13thHello everyone! A new day we have here! Yesterday's AP exam did not go as planned if we are being honest and I kind of expected that. Calculus is not a class that you can take that much time off of and be able to perform at the same level. I am still looking for a new series to watch on Netflix. I haven’t found anything to get my full attention. I also decided I am going to try and learn a third language. I am thinking either French or Portuguese. I will update you on my progress with that. Other than that, Nothing else is really new and exciting. Monday, May 11thWell into May already and quarantine feels so normal. I don’t even remember the order that my classes were anymore. As E-Learning is wrapping up, I have my first of two AP exams tomorrow. It is Calculus and I feel prepared as can be. I just got a new camera and lens and I am super excited about it. The video quality just went up an astounding amount! I have yet to start a new Netflix series and maybe I will get to that eventually. I am going to start having soccer practices again on May 25 so that will be interesting. Anyways I’m doing good as usual and hope everyone else is as well. Wednesday, May 6th Yet another Wednesday has come for us. The first full week of May is quietly passing by. The weather is starting to be more consistent, but it wouldn’t be Indiana without a few freezing cold days each week. I just finished "Money Heist" last night, and I have to say, it was hands down the best series I have ever watched. Unlimited amounts of suspense and action paired with phenomenal actors makes for a masterpiece. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some new content to watch. I am very excited for a Part 5 which has already been confirmed along with possible spin offs of certain characters. Enjoy Friday off! Monday, May 4thIt’s a new week, but things continue going as usual. States are slowly beginning to reopen and it seems like there could be some success in the near future. I am excited for what is to come and am hoping that my family will be able to make the road trip down to San Antonio, Texas. I haven't seen my grandmother in over a year and really want to see her and my other family members! Anyways I am doing my best to battle the boredom of quarantine. And especially working on my filmmaking. I am almost finished with the last two episodes of "Money Heist," But other than that, my life is as normal as possible during this time. Friday, May 1stHappy Friday everyone!!! It’s a little crazy to think it is already May. Senior year has flown by quicker than I could have ever thought. I am still passing time here at home doing school work. Like I mentioned before, I have gotten hooked on a Netflix series called "Money Heist" It is an action packed thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The story is based in Madrid, Spain, when a master-mind bank robber schemes the biggest heist in history. He does so to bring awareness to the injustices in the country and wants political justice over any harm or danger. I am already on Part 4 of 4 in just under a week. It is an amazing series if you are interested in action. Wednesday, April 29thIt's hump day! Midway through the week and it doesn’t seem like it will ever stop raining. Everyday has been wet with grey skies. Not my ideal whether, but plants are definitely getting what they wished for. Hopefully this summer yields many beautiful plants and wildlife. It seems that times remain stagnant. No closely foreseen end here in Indiana, but all we can do is wait until May 1. I'm curious to see how our state moves forward. I feel like the workload for classes has increased as well. I’m not sure if I’m the only one who feels that way. Anyways I will update you on Friday of my binge-watching of Money Heist. Monday, April 27thThese weeks in quarantine just seem to fly by like nothing! There are some states that are beginning to open back up to the public. I believe that this needs to be done carefully and gradually. Every city definitely needs to have a plan of action. I have also been accepted into a pretty prestigious program at Wabash College. I will be a part of the Center for Innovation Business and Entrepreneurship, which will provide me with an abundance of opportunities and experience before graduating. I’m very excited for this and to go off to college in the fall. I am praying that most things clear up by then. Until Wednesday! Friday, April 24thHappy Friday everyone! Where has this week gone?! For me I feel like quarantine has made the days pass by much faster. I’m not used to being home so much and am beginning to become accustomed to it. Usually I’m at the high school more hours than home so this is something different. As always I’m trying to stay positive and keep myself busy, which hasn't been difficult. I almost feel like there aren't enough hours in the day. One thing I do want to work on is getting to bed earlier. It’s just that Netflix is so appetizing every night! But anyways, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and we will see you back on Monday. Wednesday, April 22ndToday is a brand new day! Yesterday my new iphone came in so I’m excited for that. What I am not excited for is paying it off LOL. Today is also the day for a new video on my Youtube Channel so everyone should definitely give that a watch. I just finished the first season of Money Heist on Netflix last night. It was a very good start to a series that is full of action and keeps you captivated after every episode. It rained earlier, but now the sun is coming out so I definitely will be getting some exercise outside. I hope everyone is still doing great, until next time! Monday, April 20thI hope everyone is excited for a new week! I know that I am! Another six weeks behind us and us seniors are down to the last six weeks of High School. A little crazy to think about. We weren’t expecting to have things the way they are, but it is out of anyone’s control. Man how time flies. I am grateful for the experiences in high school up to this point and I hope that seniors are doing a lot of reflecting and looking back on the good memories. We only have a short time left as I mentioned and we should enjoy it as much as possible and spend time with our families because many of us will be away at college in a few months. Anyways, I hope everyone is continuing social distancing and possibly have picked up a new hobby during this time. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay positive. Until the next one. Friday, April 17I cannot believe this weather here in Northwest Indiana! I woke up to a blanket of snow outside! It was just sunny yesterday and tomorrow is supposed to have temperatures up to 60 degrees. Anyways I’m starting to work on my schoolwork for the day. My uncle also got me a GoPro for me to use on my Youtube Channel, so I’m really excited to film on it. I’m hoping things begin to resume to normal. I really would like to have a summer. I am grateful for all of those medical workers on the front lines and am doing my best to stay positive. Wednesday, April 15Wow another week has passed by. I don’t know if I’m the only one that cannot keep track of the days anymore?! It feels like one long weekend to me. I am actually getting used to quarantine and am finding ways to enjoy it. I binge watched a Netflix series called Elite. It was a great show and I do recommend it to teenagers. Other than that, this was the first Easter that I wasn’t able to be with my entire family, and not to mention I should be in Texas right now. But on the other hand we are still staying healthy and that’s all that matters. Wednesday, April 8thFinishing up my homework for the day and taking time to relax at home. I have still been working very hard on my Youtube Channel and am excited for a new video today. Even though we are in quarantine, the odd weather patterns continue here in Northwest Indiana. We have had a warm day, cold day, rainy day, hail in a day, and back to a hot day all in a row. I wonder what is next. I also started to watch a new TV series called Elite on Netflix. The show is in spanish, but it is very interesting. Hope everyone that celebrates it, enjoys Easter Weekend. Until next time. Monday, April 6thFresh off of spring break!!! Feel ready to begin my work again! I’m relaxed and positive for what’s to come. My YouTube channel is coming along very well and I’ve been doing my best to clean around the house and stay active. We received more information regarding the end of the school year and it is a little bumming to know that there will be no more classes at MHS, but health and safety is first and foremost. Hope to see everyone soon! Friday, March 27thWow, is it Friday already? This week flew by! And now we start Spring Break next week. I received such a great response from my first project on Youtube and am excited to keep making more positive content for my viewers. You should definitely check that out if you haven't already. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/Rl4dW7g8AQ8 E learning has been going well and I have done a good job at keeping in touch with some classmates as we continue to virtually work together. I am ready for the weekend (even though it seems as if all the days mesh together for one big weekend). Nevertheless enjoy the time with your families and stay safe and healthy. Wednesday March 25 Hey today’s such an exciting day! Well aside from Indiana starting it’s statewide quarantine, which is important to our health, I have something new on the way! I'm uploading the very first video to my YouTube channel! Yes, you heard it! It’s going to be all about positivity and self-improvement, so you should definitely check it out! My classes are also going well and I’m grateful for each and every day! See ya in the next one. Friday, March 20thMy day started slightly different today. I woke up at 7:45 to get ready for work. Now don’t worry. I work for a private landscaping business and my boss and I were the only ones at the open-air job site. SO you can still say I was practicing social distancing. ALthough it was very cold for most of the hours on the job, I was able to make some money, which is always nice right? I don’t know how much longer I will still be working though. I came home to warm up, had a nice home cooked meal and worked on some assignments. I don’t mind this E-Learning thing, I just miss seeing my friends. I’m probably going to get an at home workout done tonight, exercise always makes me feel better. Other than that, I am grateful to still be feeling well, there is no more I could wish for. Health is wealth. Thursday, March 19thIt would be just any other ordinary Thursday in March, but today was different. Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak I found my alarm chiming this morning at 9 A.M. Yep, that is 3 hours later than usual. I am definitely grateful for the extra sleep, but I was slightly concerned as to how I could normalize my new routine. I went to the kitchen, filled up my large water bottle as usual and gulped it down. I then walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and run water through my hair, nothing too dapper, but hey I have to look presentable for the Google Meeting call I had at 10 A.M. sharp. I logged onto my computer sitting on my new workstation that is conveniently located in my bedroom. I have to say one advantage to learning at home is that
I don’t have to wear shoes. Sorry I have to stay on topic. Mrs. Sickinger addressed the AP Language class in the video call and we went over our plan for the next two days. Right after everyone hung up, I hopped on another call with 3 friends from my AP Calculus class. We went through our assignment for the day, procrastinated, and even made jokes just like we were back in the classroom. I then finished the rest of my work for the day and made another trip to the hydration station. I took a glance at the news to find out that school will be cancelled indefinitely up until May 1st. That's really sad to hear. Especially because my senior activities will be cancelled as well. But we have to stay positive and stick together through these rough times. Until tomorrow, stay safe, stay healthy!
